NUS Candidates - The 2011 List

After the roaring success of my list of candidates for the full time positions elected at NUS Conference 2010 (which was used to pre-populate the nominated candidates list by the returning officer - fact), here is the list of known candidates for 2011.

Just a couple of caveats to start with; I've made one or two assumptions based on hearsay and other such things, as I'm not as much in the loop as last year, and candidates are not confirmed until nominations close, so anyone can pull out without me knowing! You can help keep this list up to date by providing me with names of known candidates in the comments or by tweeting me.

So here we go ...

NUS President
Aaron Porter (incumbent)
Shane Chowen (currently VP Further Education)
Liam Burns (currently NUS Scotland President)
Thomas Byrne (York)
Mark Bergfeld (Essex)

Vice President Higher Education
Usman Ali (incumbent)
Thomas Graham (Edinburgh)
Michael Chessum (UCL)

Vice President Further Education
Toni Pearce (Cornwall College & Further Education Zone Committee/NEC)
Callum Morton (Amersham and Wycombe College & Further Education Zone Committee)
Ruby Hirsch (La Swap College, Camden)

Vice President Union Development
Ed Marsh (incumbent)
Joana Oliveria Pinto (SOAS)

Vice President Society and Citizenship
Dannie Grufferty (NEC Block)
Aakash Naik (Portsmouth & Soc & Cit Zone Committee/NEC)
Javed Sheikh (NEC Block)
Aaron Kiely (Kent)

Vice President Welfare
Pete Mercer (NEC Block)
Pete Woodward (Northumbria & Welfare Zone Committee/NEC)
Sean Rillo Raczka (Birkbeck)

Anyone have some other names? The list will be updated when more candidates are confirmed.

Last Updated: Monday 21 February, 14:00.
